Logan Cummings is a doctoral student in the Clinical Science program and is pursuing a certificate in Cognitive Neuroscience at Florida International University.
Research Areas
Broadly, Logan is interested in using tools from developmental affective neuroscience (e.g., fMRI, computational modeling) to understand the escalation of self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (e.g., suicide, nonsuicidal self-injury) in adolescence. He hopes to identify neurodevelopmental processes (e.g., changes in brain structure and function, reward sensitivity, autonomy, identity development, and socio-affective learning opportunities) that can be leveraged to promote positive growth trajectories for youth at-risk for, or engaging in, self-injury.
