Internships and Assistantships

The Center for Children and Families offers many internship and employment opportunities throughout the year for undergraduate and graduate students seeking a career in the child and adolescent mental health field.

Opportunities for students at CCF include but are not limited to:

  • Internships
  • Research assistantships
  • Field experience
  • Summer Treatment Program internships and employment
  • Volunteering at the clinic or with faculty

Please note that the CCF is a child-serving center, and as such, anyone who wants to work and/or volunteer at the center must go through and pass both level I and II clearance (background check and fingerprinting), conducted by FIU, prior to the start of their work/employment.

Work at CCF

If you are interested in working with the CCF, we encourage you to visit the pages of the faculty you are interested in working with, and contact them directly about opportunities available in their research labs. If you are considering a career in psychology or mental health, research experience is an excellent way to explore the field further and to gain valuable experience that will help you when applying for future positions.
